A CAIR-MI representative recently held a discussion refuting a bias report stating that 80% of mosques in America promote violence.

The report was co-authored by David Yerushalmi, who was recently named by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as one of America’s twelve most infamous Islamophobes.

Yerushalmi, who has been a driving force behind unconstitutional anti-sharia legislation in a number of states, has also been criticized by civil libertarians and Jewish leaders for referring to African-Americans as “the most murderous of people.”

“It is unfortunate that bigots such as Yerushalmi, who lack objectivity about African-Americans, Arabs and Muslims are given any credence or credibility,” said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid. “Such reports, which draw non-scientific conclusions due to lack of sound empirical data fan the flames of Islamophobia and bolster the claims of contemporary McCarthyist such as Representative Peter King.”
