CAIR-MI Condemns Attacks Near Mosques in Iraq
(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 11/8/10) - The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) today condemned two bomb attacks that killed and injured pilgrims near historic mosques in Iraq.
Two car bombings this morning killed 11 people and injured some 50 others who were going to pray at the Imam Ali mosque in Najaf and the Imam Al-Husayn mosque in Karbala.

Michigan is home to the largest concentration of people of Iraqi ancestry in America.
"We condemn all such attacks on worshipers and houses of worship," CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid. "No faith allows such wanton violence or the targeting of those engaged in spiritual activities."
Walid said CAIR recently condemned a similar terror attack on a Baghdad church.
