CAIR-MI Gives 'Know Your Rights' Presentation

(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 8/23/10) - The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) recently gave a "Know Your Rights" presentation at Masjid Mu'ath bin Jabal in Detroit.

The presentation provided information regarding the status of charitable giving under current Department of Treasury guidelines,  passengers' rights in airports including the option to forego full body scanning machines, rights when being approached by law enforcement officers at home or at the workplace for citizens and legal residents and how to submit a civil rights complaint to a CAIR office.

CAIR-MI also urged attendees to visit CAIR's website and to share its on-line "Know Your Rights" pocket guide with family members, co-workers and friends.
