CAIR-MI Gives 'Know Your Rights' Presentations

(SOUTHFIELD, MI, 5/10/10) - The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) yesterday gave two "Know Your Rights" presentations at the American Moslem Society mosque in Dearborn, Mich.

The presentations provided information regarding passengers' rights in airports including the option to forego full body scanning machines, rights when being approached by law enforcement officers at home or at the workplace for citizens and legal residents and how to submit a civil rights complaint to a CAIR office.

A similar presentation was given the prior day at the Islamic Cultural Association in Franklin, Mich.

CAIR-MI representatives also urged attendees to visit CAIR's website and to share its on-line "Know Your Rights" pocket guide with family members, co-workers and friends.
