CAIR-MI Rep Participates in Interfaith Discussion on Tolerance and Cooperation


(SOUTHFIELD, MI 11/2/10) - The representative of Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) yesterday participated in an interfaith discussion about cultivating tolerance and cooperation among Jews, Christians and Muslims at the Islamic House of Wisdom in Dearborn Heights, Mich.

 

CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid spoke to clergy members and lay leaders of various faiths about the need for religious people to put their faith into action regarding social justice issues, particularly in Detroit.

 

Other speakers included clergy from the Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, Presbyterian and United Church of Christ denominations.

 

"We welcome such opportunities to engage people of faith to plan efforts of mutual cooperation to make out country more secure and just," said CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid.
