Media Outreach Team

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Media Outreach Team is to raise awareness, promote understanding and actively speak out about issues concerning Muslims including civil rights infringements, smear campaigns and propaganda against Islam and Muslims; as well as exposing bigotry against Muslims and their agenda of hate.

Function

  1. Write op-ed pieces and “letters to the editor” to newspapers and magazines
  2. Make action-alert calls to reporters and/or politicians
  3. Maintain and operate the blog, “The Muslim Watch”

How the Team Operates

The media outreach team’s functionality is two-fold; reactionary and proactive. The outreach team will react to incidents and occurrences that infringe on the rights of, or have an adverse affect on Muslims or Islam including false propaganda and media outlets that portray Islam in a negative light. The outreach team will also act proactively to expose those who spread hate and anti-Islam propaganda. The proactive function of the outreach team will also shed a positive light on those who are combating bigotry against Muslims.
